Well it's not often I post in here, but i am desperate for help!

As silly as it may sound, I can't physically sit down and do a college project I have to do ( it is due in in June ) i'm on a part time course, and the project should have been on-going starting from last November.

Now i've done some, but I can't actually sit down and get on with it, I don't know why though as there is plenty that needs to be done.

I've only got myself to blame tbh, but what do you guys do to stop being lazy, and stop being distracted by things like the xbox, tv, decks, forums?

Que lots of

Our local library is moving to another building so it's not really possible, although i could go to college i suppose.

My room is quite tidy at the mo.

I'm really annoyed with myself because i'm too damn lazy, theres just something in me that stops me from working :o I think i'm slowly going mad!

The thing is i've had all day to do it, woke up at 9am ( day off from work ) but one thing leads to another and bang, its 5pm, nothing done!

Ultimately, your project is part of your course which you should want to pass. How will this course help you in your future career? If it's important, theres plenty of time once it's done to goof off and enjoy yourself.

Apply yourself now, reap the benefits. I know plenty of people from College and University who had the opportunity to move onto great thinks but laziness stopped that, they got mediocre results and do jobs they hate and it's something they now regret.

Very much so, it's directly related. Passing this course will allow me to start the next one and slowly onto the path of being fully qualified in the career path I have chosen. Failing this module means i fail the course.

I don't think i will fail because I know what i've got to do, it's not exactly difficult, but for some stupid reason I have no sense of urgency, I know i'll panic at some point and rush to do it all :(

Banning the internet would not be ideal as i need it to help do my work.

I think this thread might help tho as I can look at it and in doing so look at myself and see how stupid i really am.

Right, i've cleaned the desk a bit, closed all web pages ( apart from this thread ) unplugged xbox and hidden anything else i can think of.

How do you guys go about setting targets? If i set myself a minimum of 3 hours worth of work to be completed today i'll hopefully have a better mind set tomorrow to start early and do a fair bit. Would you guys agree that is the best way to go about things?

I'm already thinking i'll reward myself with a few hours on FNR3 on the xbox, bought it earlier and can't wait to play it again

:) This thread seems to have helped me, I started doing some work around an hour and a half ago!!

For some stupid reason my computer just restarted itself  I was doing a google search and the screen just went blank and the comp decided to re-boot itself!! This isn't the first time something like this has happened either, some times it randomly turns off ( well turns the monitor off and any programs like winamp but actually keeps on running ) and the only way to turn it off has been to hold the power button down - it's only done this like 3 times in the last year or so though. Any ideas ? I know this isn't the right part of the forum, but i'm not sure where else to ask?

Trust this to happen when i finally sit down and do some work

Just to drag this up again as i'm sure a fair few people are in the same situation of coming to the end of their courses.

I managed to pull my finger out in the end and now have a healthy 8k word report with just the evaluation to do (i know quality < quantity so i've kept it all relevant! )

Fingers crossed I should get a distinction for it! :D It's deffo worth a merit as I checked with my tutor yesterday but i've added a fair bit to it now!

Think i'll reward myself with Forza 2 and a steering wheel ( for a combined total of £45 ;) ) when the course finishes in 2 weeks :p

Result!
