It's technically not the same ram since the *c4 can operate at 4-4-4-12@800mhz, whereas the standard one can only run at JEDEC standard (aka 5-5-5-18)
Definatly worth installing 1gb of 2.1v and one stick of 1.9v. If it detects 2gb, then the ram compatibility isnt an issue and lies elsewhere (What graphics card do you have btw?)

Looking at the motherboard manual page 2-11 on that .pdf, seems you should try with the 2 old sticks in slots 1+2 and the new in slot 3
