Installing an Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV to Sapphire 290

I'm getting there....slowly :p Just wanted to run the PC for a few minutes first to make sure it wasn't going to get hot whilst idle.

I will test it shortly with Tomb Raider and probably BF4 later tonight.

You could also run a quick few rounds of heaven, that should get it toasty.

I checked my 290 at stock and have pretty much exactly the same idle temps with the ref cooler (your vrm2 is 8c higher than mine, could be case airflow or anything though).

10 minutes of Tomb Raider. Whats regarded as good VRM temps?

:D

My fan profile for 290 Pro crossfire, should anyone be interested. 5% overclock on the core. Temps range from 80-90c depending on the game played and if vsync is used. In game card temps are identical thanks to my case airflow.

Also Beer, if you click in the boxes to the left of the graphs in GPU Z you can set each one to display the max temp each category got too. It toggles between max, average and minimum. Could you set them to display max?

This is great info and im sure your post will probably sell a crap load of these coolers if the results are good. So many of us out there with ref coolers that want to silence the beast!

Thanks, I didn't realise I could do that :D I'm pretty happy with my temps and fan noise. It's a shame the cooler doesn't come with the extra heatsink coolers. I had fun with the Dremel though :p
