Currently, I have carpet mats in my car, but for some reason, I prefer rubber.

What does everyone else prefer? Rubber or Carpet?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Surely there are rubber and carpet ones for a reason?

But I have carpet ones, they came with the car. Carpet looks better but I guess rubber would be easier to clean?

Carpet but with the funny base that doesnt slide about when your out on a "spirited" drive

I hate mats with a passion, but if forced to choose I'd pick carpet with that hooky backing stuff so it doesn't slide about.

Ive had my accelerator pedal get stuck because of a mat before. Did wonder why it bounced off the limiter when I floored it and changed gear.

Depends on the mats. My car has a cream interior, so I have rubber mats for the winter, and the carpet ones that came with it for the summer. The rubber ones are really great - have the same mounting points as the carpet ones, and a grippy bit under the pedals so your feet don't slide around.
