Insurance companies...wtf :/

I am looking for insurance as it is due for renewal in around 2 weeks, and i was just on the ecar website getting a quote.

This quote came through at £1,359.00 TPFT for my clio

10 minutes later i have just recieved a phone call off of them asking if i want to take out a policy for £1,700.

Why do they do this? Is it just to get at me that i have to spend over a grand to insure something that is pathetic?

Already have and it is still stupid, i wish she listened to me in the first year i was driving and put me as the main driver, seeing as i was

Done that one aswell with my 1 year named driver discount and still came out with the cheapest one of £1350 or something silly

Get a quote with Bell. Add your mum/sister/any other female with some NCB as named drivers.

I'm male, under 25 and don't have a no claims bonus. I'm a prime candidate for getting raped by insurance companies. Insurance for my 1.4 litre Astra was £750. The car itself only cost me £500.

I had been expecting quotes well in excess of £1000 though, so it's not too bad. It's fully comp but with £250 compulsory excess. Went on confused.com, and it turned out Elephant were the cheapest for me.

I was well annoyed when insurance went up £25 when moving from the Pug 1.6 to a Puma 1.7

Actually been quoted £215 for the Puma and its up for renewal in 1 month !

Just got a quote off norwich union, and to be honest they definately did quote me happy at £3200 odd for TPFT insurance

Norwich Union do provide me with very high quotes as well. My Dad is the same, he phoned up and got a quote for £800 and they asked was he happy with it, needless to say he went with Churchill and paid £260 on his Focus.

you could try Quinn dierect. Im only paying 600 a year, 19, 2 yrs ncb, with a mitsa colt mirage.

There quite good with c-s too.

Oh try www.premiumchoice.co.uk too, I'd call them rather than quote online. I'm with them this year and they were £200 cheaper than anyone else for me.

Zurich have the be the most expensive car insurance company known to man, quoted me £2,100. Im 29 with 6 years NCB, Privilege quoted me £360, utter madness.

Just to make you really sick my premium last year was £550 fully comp on a highly modified Impreza Sti running 400 bhp and 480lbsft torque

But there again I am an old biffer with 20+ years NCB
