I no this probably gets asked a lot but i very rarely use the forums. i was just wondering if anyone knows who is cheap for young drivers. i'm driving a category four car (hyundai getz 1.3L) and 19 years old.

any suggestions would be most helpful. thank you

Try elephant, sticking your parents on as named drivers will bring the quote down significantly.

yeah i have tried them sites. i also have my mam on my insurance details. the cheapest quote i have recieved so far is £2158.55 from quinn direct. was just woundering if anyone could recommend anone else as my friends pay less than 2grand with others but they are higher on mine

elephant is always cheapest for me.. defo give that a go, oh and enjoy the getz, i drove one of those for ages.. basically a go kart

im driving it now on the mams insurance. ive drove better but its alryt haha. elephants over £3500.

Very strange, they insure my 1.8 mondeo for £1800 in the one of the worst postcodes in england for car insurance and i'm only 18.

And you have added named drivers?

Maybe they just don't like you

i dont no why its so expensive. i just dont think they expect a young lad to be driving that type of car to be honest. churchill is cheap for all my friends but when i quote i get £4678

Being a named driver on your Mum's insurance and being the Primary driver does not mean you are legally insured, which is why I ask.

I assume you have an arrangement with your Mother's insurance for this however.

i'm not the primary driver. im just a named driver nd drive it when ever i can as it is still her car. i am getting her car as she is getting a new one therefore needing to take out my own policy as i will then be the main driver
