I have a honda cbr125r and last year for just third party it cost me £175 and this week I got a letter from the insurer that it will cost me £205 for this second year.

basically in short I use the bike to get to and from work and the occasional runabout. didn't claim on it yet it's gone up £30.

I've searched on a website and found that if I reinsure with the same company it would cost me £199 yet there is another company that'll cost £140.

should I bother phoning the company telling them this or go with this new insurer?

It's worth a go if you want to stick with them. My sister had a similar thing with her renewal this year and they matched the quote she got from another company.

How old are you? But if you barely use it i don't see why you should pay so much more. Just as long as it's a reputable insurance company.

I don't plan on crashing it but then again who does. It's top speed is 85mph but it's under certain conditions and it can only really get up to 70mph comfortably.

I'm 22 and in this first year I've done under 3000 miles.

My current insurer is bennetts but this other insurer is mce (never heard of it). on the same comparing site honda insurance was a few pound more than bennetts (might ask in store as I have to take it in for it's second service tomorrow).

I bought it new also.

thus because of my requirements all I really need is the legal paperwork so shouldn't it be fine either way. obviously I'll phone the insurer and tell them anyway but shouldn't I be relieved at finding it at this price.

this first year of riding should see the greatest drop for my no claims yet that still seems a heck of a lot for inflation.
