Insurance - money situation -

There seem to be a lot of very hypocritical people on this board. If you're going to lambast people for breaking the law, try practicing what you preach and stick to the law yourself. Otherwise, live and let live :)

Whilst on the surface I can see why you'd think that anyone who has ever done something contrary to the law is in no position to disapprove of anyone else who has ever done something contrary to the law, when you think about it properly, this is a ridiculous thing to think.

Taken to its logical conclusion it means that somebody who has broken the law by making a recording a favourite television show for purposes other than timeshifting is in no position to express disapproval at somebody they see on the news guilty of murder. An extreme example, I grant you, but it illustrates the point quite nicely.

Just because somebody has done something unrelated like drive at 75mph on the Motorway doesnt mean they can't express the opinion that commiting fraud is wrong. In exactly the same way that just because somebody has commited insurance fraud it doesnt mean they cannot express the opinion that dangerous driving is wrong, either. Heck, if they want, they are perfectly entitled to the view that speeding is wrong. The fact they defraud people doesn't really have much bearing on the right they have to beleive other activities are wrong. They are all seperate crimes and should be judged seperately.

Otherwise lets have anarchy, given I doubt there is a judge in the land who hasn't at least once exceeded a speed limit, therefore they are in no position to judge others for, I dunno, bank robbery, murder, or insurance fraud ;)

You've just come to the conclusion that only anarchy allows for equality.
