Hi
Need some help...
Someone reversed into me (I was stationary, they weren't' looking) and accepted full liability at the scene, gave me their details etc all fine.
Contacted me insurance (Elephant) and provided the details, who contacted the third party insurance. Turns out the third party insurance details the lady gave me is actually a broker. She reported the incident to the broker, who has not reported it to the actual insurance company.
So Elephant are basically being ****holes about it and saying there's nothing they can do, until she informs the actual insurance company I have to accept full liability.
They also said that they are not going to call the broker/third party insurance company again as their policy is only to call once, which they have done. I can either chase the third party (who is saying they've reported it, and has, just to the broker who I guess should forward it) or just sit and wait.
Anyone been in such a situation? Any advice? I've spoken to four different people at Elephant now and they are all giving me the same story. I'll try and get through to a supervisor today.
The damage to my car isn't bad (front bumper is slightly flexed and the number plate is smashed), BMW have checked it over and quoted me already. Its drivable, but its really annoying and I want to get it fixed.
Thanks
