INSURANCE QUESTION

If you are trying to insure a van, for commercial use, then this is another reason why your quotes are so high.

I didn't get it wrong at all, you just keep drip feeding us more of the story as the thread progresses. Frankly I doubt he drives more than half the time anyway, you are simply looking for a loophole for cheap insurance, like everyone else who fronts a policy.

If he drives it most of the time then why not sell him the van, pointless having a vehicle you dont drive as much as someone else eh ;)

your one of those people who look for arguments and man 100'000 posts you must have wreaked some threads. i asked one question you went off topic and trying to cause a argument. if you didnt understand what i was asking like the others you should have just asked. now my question is answered thanks to the normal people. bye bye

Don't let technicalities get in the way, twist the story how you want but It's your van and you drive it more than the named driver, but you can lie to us, it doesn't matter but don't cry when your insurers refuse to pay out or cancel your policy.

Hes trying to stop you fronting, crashing and the insurance company chasing you for every penny of damage you cause?

I don't see how that is off topic at all.

Why don't people who can't use half decent spelling and grammar get banned?

It's not necessarily the grammar that bothers me, although it is irritating - it's the lack of brain cells that it demonstrates. This one can't even figure out how to legally insure his vehicle, there's not a great deal of hope for him.

Direct Line, but those ncb for the named driver can only be used with Direct Line iirc.

Earlier this year I was able to take my named driver ncb from directline to elephant and they accepted it no bother. Gave them the policy details and that was it, didnt need to send anything in.

Though Elephant also do the named driver ncb thing so this could be why they accepted it....

your jumping to conclusions here. he drives the van as much as me as we work together. the van is mine but the insurance will just be in his name. if i pay for fully comp then whats the difference.

theres always one trying to be a do gooder.

a tleast im paying for the insurance and if i do hit someone then they will still get paid.

unless of course you crash whilst driving it, and they jump to the same conclusion as fox, that somebody who has only been driving a year, being a named driver, on a policy where the holder has been driving much longer, is fronting.

Its ridiculously common, and when margins are so tight for insurance companies, they'll look for any reason to refuse a claim. Then they start looking, speaking to your customers ...

Its not that simple.

that does not matter as long as its insured does it.......

of course it matters. Thats why if you lie, they will pay out for the third party you hit, but then send you a bill for it, and refuse to pay anything out on the damage to your car.

Leaving you with no van, and a nice big bill for the other persons damage. Your no doubt at this point thinking you can get away with it and they'll never know. Dont bother risking it mate, yes its expensive, but everybodys first year is. Just get it done, and start accumulating NCB, then things get cheaper :)

Be honnest with your unsurer and cough up unless you want your balls in a vice.

It sucks but it does get cheaper. It should be a deterrant from silly/dangerous driving as no NCB and a claim will see your wallet even lighter.
