Just had insurance quotes back for the Anglia.

£129 FC with £250 excess, 5000 miles, includes commuting, all mods declared, no breakdown cover available.

or

£160 FC with £100 excess, 5000 miles, includes commuting, all mods declared, breakdown cover for £20 more

So it's between whether I want breakdown cover or whether I decide to bin it in a hedge. Damn. What would you choose? Can you get cheap one-car cover with relay? I'm thinking it might have to be the second one.

breakdown cover is onlt ~£30 on it's own, so really it's just down to whether the larger excess on policy 1 bothers you.

go with the second one. only £30 more and £150 less excess should you stack it.
I was thinking that, but then I can always increase the agreed value to cover it. I guess it's down to how hard I decide to stack it.

My Pop is £160 FC, special deals for classic and modified cars.
Tis good isn't it! I'm almost looking forward to the quote for my b when it gets back on the road. What with me being older and wiser than last time and the allowed mileage being pretty low they will end up paying me!

I'd probably take the second, with breakdown. It's easier in the long run, plus it's less to pay if it does get stacked.

Classic insurance is great. I once managed to insure my GT6 for a whole year, breakdown and unlimited mileage, plus the wife as a named driver, for, IIRC, ~£29 :D
