My brother claims that his IT teacher once told him that the internet was connected through numerous insulated cables under the sea, is he full of ? Or is it true?

Yep that's true, watched a program the other day about how they put it down there and how the cable is made. Very interesting indeed.

My old teacher who taught me A Level Electronics use to dive to do maintenance and repair those sort of fiber optics cables before he became a teacher i think, he had some interesting stories! So id guess it must be true.

Undersea cables are the quickest way to get data across large seas like the Atlantic and the Pacific. They do have lots of problems with them getting cut, and from sharks trying to bite through them .
