considering a stock i7 outperforms a phenom II at 4hz I wouldn't worry about intel locking overlocking

Not quite sure those 3 words have ever been used in conjunction with relation to intel before to be honest..

Looking at the Anandtech preview Sandy Bridge seems to be pretty competitve with the current high end. I wouldn't swap it for an i7 if I already owned one but looks a good option for a new system. The K version should be very interesting...

Can someone advise me on this sandy bridge? i hadn't heard of it before this thread. I was thinking of getting a new i7 950 before VAT increased to 20% in the new year..... but now im not sure whether to hold off?

At the moment im running an E6600 at 3.55GHz
