Hi guys,

Took delivery of all my lovely shiney bits to build a new PC today :) everything is now up and going - however have a slight (major!) problem with my sound.

I have gone from an nForce4 board to this brand new Asus P5KC P35 board, which is using Realtek onboard 7.1 sound, I have a Creative surround sound setup (cheap, yet very effective) but since going on to this new board the bass is almost non-existant and the sound from the satellites is very tinny.
The Realtek software is setup to be using 5.1 surround and there's an option to tick for a sub (which there is) but the sound is still crap!

I've checked the 3 jacks that are plugged in (Front/Rear/Bass) and have confirmed these are identical on my old PC - I don't know what else to check for?

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate by the way. I'm off to the Asus site to check for some updated software but any suggestions are very much welcome, cheers.

No updated software, turns out that you are forced into using one of the preset sound profiles (which are rubbish), there is no way to define any particular sounds, e.g. turn up the bass. :|
