OK, I know this is my 1st post ... but I'm kinda in the poop, I think....

I was sitting at my desk today at about a 1/4 past three.... in a tele confrence thing, it was kinda boring, you know, you can ask questions, answer questions whitout really listening cos it pretty brain numbing...

So anyway, whilst sitting there, I figured hey, lets hit the bios and see what this things like .... (I'm currently Folding [for team 10 of course], I use two PC's at work, ones on 24/7 with the exception of down times and the other is pretty much too, P4-2.somethingGHz and P4-3.0GHz respectivly). So my though was maybe I can juice a little more hertz out of them there CPU's..... the 1st system is about 6years old, no joy, pheonixbios, about the only option is "Save and Exit?". The other machine is about 3 months sold with a P4 Dual Core, "SWEET!" I run two FAH clients on it now, leaving it on 24/7, RESULT! So back to this afternoon, I popped up the bios (Click here for linky... ) up, flicked through the menus, ok, (I'm used to my budget ASRock mobo) nothing really much there, until got to memory, hmm, so theres the ability to adjust all the latenceis and the speed, options were '533' or '667' under the option it show the memort installed, slot 1: 1GB of 667mhz ?????. Slot 2: NIL

So, not really looking at what I'm doing, I half paying attention flip the speed up to 667 from 533 ... F10 yup, kool, carry on talking on the phone ... then realise .... the systems booted up, but a blank screen!!!! (You can imagine what slowly runs through my mind...) =(

I've disconnected everythng, pulled the battery as per the website aboves BIOS reset info ... waited an hour, re-boot, nothing....
The system will fire straight up as soon as you power the PSU! Doesnt even wait for the button to be pressed...
Also no lights on the keyboard...

The only other thing I can see that it says to do is make a floppy or CD and recover the BIOS that way....
That shouldnt be a problem to do, but I have a some questions...
How do I know its going to accept the recovery when the monitor doesnt work?
Likewaise, how do I know if its prompying for user options if I cant see what its doing? =(
Is there anyother way to get the monitor to work?
Why the hell has it gone so badly wrong when I havent changed much?
Surely I should still get a post? At least to be able to get into the BIOS again?
Is running/trying to run the recovery the only option, or is it likely to fry it completely?

Please help, please please, as its not very good .. I have a very big end of month financial close down and well, really need the machine, working.

System:
XP Pro
Intel® Desktop Board D946GZIS
Intel Pentium 4 Dual Core 3.0GHz LGA775
On board graphics&sound
1GB stock RAM.
160GB HDD

Anyhelp would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!!

[EDIT] Tried the bios recovery, nowt, infact theres no led to show anything is happening inside, only the power led and the DVD drive led when you boot it..... OH Dear =(

when you removed the battery, did you take the power cable out too?

i'd look for the CMOS reset jumper, set that - unplug from mains, remove CMOS battery - leave overnight and put everythign back as it was.

If it still doesn't work, i'd start unplugging anything not essential for a basic boot, move RAM to a different slot (only have one stick in if it has two).

Finally call IT dept :/
