It's official, Intel have announced the launch of CoffeeLake

"The latter is particularly interesting, as Intel isn't using "favored cores" ala Turbo Boost Max 3.0 here. Instead, these are typical Turbo Boost 2.0 frequencies, which is to say that each and every core needs to be capable of hitting these published clockspeeds. Or put another way, if you throw TDP limits into the wind, turning on a motherboard's multi-core enhancement (or equivalent) should get you a true 4.7GHz 6-core CPU without any real overclocking. "
That's quite good. So they are potentially going to boost to 4.7ghz on all cores at stock.
Rumours have it at 5.0 without delid. Impressive if true.
Tbh they were the same with ryzen lol. I've seen screens of 5.0 but we all know they can be doctored. Ryzen is going into my daughter's build I think. Roblox and YouTube for the rest of it's days. Those rumours were spread for every single intel launch in the last couple of gensHave you sold your Ryzen yet or waiting for Coffe reviews?
I hope she wont complain about bsod'sTbh they were the same with ryzen lol. I've seen screens of 5.0 but we all know they can be doctored. Ryzen is going into my daughter's build I think. Roblox and YouTube for the rest of it's days.
8700 now listed in Switzerland, no specific delivery date.
Cost is £255. 8700k not listed yet but expect it to be around £300
Current 7700k price is £227 here.
No motherboards listed yet.
mGPU 2x8 mode.
£250 for the 8700 is not a bad price. Looks like Intel have seen sense.
I hope she wont complain about bsod's![]()
Not sure that will work too well. The Nvidia fan club seem to make a point of talking down dual cards for some reason.
Low VAT here and low electronic prices in general, so UK will be a bit more. But still shows they are going to be roughly as expected.
Don't bring another war into this thread. It was going well.
