In before excuses......

According to the power consumption and temperature charts, the 8700K seems to be the 7700K with two additional cores stitched, within the 95W TDP envelop. It's the same as what they did with the 8th gen ultrabook 15W mobile CPUs.

As a part time streamer, this is looking like a decent upgrade for my 6700K.. IF these leaks are correct.

I already have Corsair Dominator Platinum 3200Mhz DDR4 so just the board and chip to upgrade for £500 at most.

Edit.. I might need to upgrade my PSU though, just to be on the safe side :)
Part time streaming is a job for your GPU, surely? I can't stream and record at the same time but I can do one or the other using the GPU without affecting game performance at all.

Yes we all know the performance will be excellent. It's amazing how the same people keep thinking Intel lives in a bubble rather than in a competitive marketplace where people actually look at the cost of stuff before buying it.

.

But it is argued that streaming using x264 on the CPU provides a much superior Picture to the viewers.
