getting rid of konciesky would be a good start for the new year for liverpool he has cost liverpool so many points this season by making mistakes that 10 year olds make.

Needs a break, if not for his sanity then for his health. He aged noticeably during the last few years at Liverpool and the stress can't have done him any good at all. 6 months out followed by a return to Spain

I like to think he'd take a break. Could do him good to get away from everything and spend time with family ect ect,
I'd heard that Rafa is a football nut (to put it simply) and everything he did was football related, (compared to other managers who have hobbies and things they do away from football to unwind) so I don't know if he'd enjoy being away from something he put his everything in to.
/just my two cents.
His kids have supposedly already enrolled back in school on Merseyside. I think it's safe to say he'll take a break but I wouldn't rule out his next job being in England. His family were incredibly settled in the area and didn't want to leave to begin with.
That's the route to an early grave.

I don't want this to become another "Liverpool" thread, but I'd add Arbeloa to that list as well. He was the best RB in the league a couple of years back and I'm still ****ed off at Rafa for flogging him for £3.5mil.
Next job... Blackburn?
Didn't know that about his kids, seems by what you've said and what I've read he was very happy here, a lot of players can't settle but nice to see someone who has I suppose.
Don't think he'd go back to Liverpool, wouldn't rule it out though.
Would like to see him manage again in England, just so he can make another "off to see robben in hospital" moment. Brilliant.
You do know that Arbeloa wanted to leave and had done for a year before he actually left? The fee was down to the fact that Real had us over a barrel; he only had a year left on his deal and was adamant he wanted to rejoin Real.
And as much as I loved him, he was never the best RB in the league. He got forward well but his end product was usually poor and although he was decent enough defensively, he was never as solid as Finnan was for us from '05 to '07.

Just seen on the BBC website that leonardo has taken over. Personally I think its a good choice.
