Hi all. I had an Intruder alram fitted to my house over the last few days, better late than never  . The installers are friends of my missus.

The system we have is American and called Accenta/Optima G3. We have 2 keypads, one in hall and one on landing plus the main terminal in the PC room upstairs. The installers did the tests and the walk test plus the Personall alarm next to my missus side of the bed and all worked fine. The main alram out side went off and could be reset etc.

Now, the thing is when they set the alarm for proper and we move in the house, the sensors in the room detect us and the lights flash on the keypads but the main alarm doesnt go off. They tried everything but still couldnt get it to work. The installers are calling the manufatures today to find out what gives.

Is there anyone here that knows anything about these things? We are thinking there is an easy answer to this like setting somethign to activate the main alarm but nothing in menttioned in the booklets etc. The installers said the logic behind the instructions was stupid and confusing..

Any help much welcome.

Pretty sure thats the panel we have and I have rewired our house alarm as oer time with decorating we have chased all the cables into the walls etc...

When the alarm goes off the outside siren and strobe should activate AND an internal alarm should go off.

Don't any of these go off?

Everything works Ok Strobe and alarm, internal and external. the alarm doesnt go off when the alarm is set. All sensors are working because we can see them light up when we walk into the rooms. The external alarm doesnt sound.

I should say the test and walk test work. but as I said above the alarm not sounding when activated.. Might be mobo faulty.. Cant see where though

Sorry but the manual for the Accenta alarms are one of the easiest to understand and are prefectly logical. Is there a tamper fault anywhere on the system- on one of the RKPs or on the Global Tamper Network? If there is a tamper fault the system will not arm. Is the system set to double knock- ie the sensors must be activated more than once to cause a full alarm condition? Are all the sensors actually enabled?- some are disabled by default. If they are enabled, are they set to security zones? Are the entry/exit and time inhibit zones (If present) correctly set? Is the system definatley arming properly- how do you know? Have you tried causing a full alarm condition by pressing the PA button? If you don't have a PA button, hold buttons 4 and 9 at the same time on a keypad :)

Hi.. all alarms work. All tests work. the PA works and all sound off as its supoosed too. The senors work. When we open door and walk around the lights light up on the sensor and on the consoles, both of them. The sensor are all linked to zones and everything is correct. We set the alarm as we would to go out and lock up.. we wait till the sounding beeps go off and walk back in the alarm doesnt go off..

Any idea? I would do a master reset but worreid in case i mess it all up and have to call out somone..not sure if the installer has changed the install code or not.. not wanting to try just in case.:)

Ok juts set the alarm to chime mode.. that works ok. We all left the area and walked in and it went off but turned the chime off re set alarma letf and come back. nothing.. Doing my head in..

Yer I might be able to help. I fit them for a living. Iam not quite sure off your problem though? Can you set/unset your system ok?

It will be a fault with the programing, which can be changed in minutes the actual install work should be fine as you say you can see the led on the pir's.

Have a look in the manual for the settings on what the alarm actually does when a sensor is triggered- there are a fair few different options IIRC. If you're not sure what to look for then I'll go and dig one of my manuals out- what type of Accenta panel do you have? If that doesn't work then I would suggest resetting the panel to factory defaults- if you have to do that, give me a shout and I should be able to tell you most of the settings you need to put it once you have reset it :)
