My best advice.

Based on previous experince.

DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE.


If i had followed this simple instruction life would have been much better when my polo was written off.

The police can speak to the insurance companys and totally blame you. This happened to me. They also tried to proscute me for careless driving. A short course made that go away.

I went the claim a 100% in my favour to 100% against due to the police taking me as a liar and the other person as truthful.

The police can speak to my insurance company all they want to be totally honest.... I'm not contesting my blame really at all. Unfortunately a rear impact doesn't really leave me much choice!

The Police report will just be part of the evidence, amongst all the other evidence by witnesses, physical evidence, accident reconstruction expert evidence, CCTV evidence.

Police got involved when I had an accident, I had to give a statement, wait a while then they sent me a letter saying they wouldn't be taking it any further, that was that.

As the police didn't actually attend the incident (due to no need at the time) I believe there was no accident reconstruction, nor indeed CCTV or witnesses. No one stopped at the scene at least.
