Basically I have IDE DVD roms which are on the Jmicron sata controller. This is annoying in this board

When i try and boot from the vista dvd it gets to screen with the command prompt and just stays there doing nothing.

Any ideas how to get it to work? I've tried Vlite without avail

IF anyone has had similar problems. please let me know

thanks a lot

C'mon folks

Is there no one here with a P35 board who is using IDE for optical drives?

Have you tried loading the JMicron drivers during the install? Found this on another forum...

>>>"?????? Question-?????? On the Abit boot/driver disk, there is the option to make the driver disk for installing the Raid drivers. But it gives the option of making an Intel Driver Disk and a JMicron Driver disk.......{I went ahead and made both} I assume that the Intel disk is the one I want to put in during the Windows install (f6)....... Do I also need to install the Jmicron drivers at this time too- during the Win install? I thought the JMicron drivers got installed/were installable from the CD directly later......... "

well if your using a IDe cdrom/dvdrom then yea use the jmicron drivers. as all the sata ports are going to the intel southbridge. if your cd or dvd is on the sata connection all you need to load is just the intel ones. now if you still get a BOSD like when i first did the AB9-pro install both intel and jmicron.

i fixed the problem eventually by changing the physical order in which the hdds are connected to the sata port?

I didn't think that would make a difference when its setup in the bios but you hey..,.
