My wife has an iphone, and as part of an O2/iPhone deal, there were some videos and music given away as gifts over Christmas. She downloaded the parts to her phone, and watched them fine, then when she later synced on her PC through itunes, the videos moved to a purchased library within itunes.

This appears to have been an automatic process, and it removed the videos from the iPhone, she has asked me how she gets them back onto her phone, as I am completely unfamiliar with itunes I don't know how. Anyone aware of why the videos moved off the phone in the first palce, and how to get them back?

Erm not sure why it moved. But when you connect her iphone, go to the iphone section along the left, there should be a tab for videos on the iphone page and there you can tick which videos to sync.

I think that is where the issue lies, the videos currently are present on that left hand tab, under the store button, and a subtab called purchased.
If I go down the left side to devices, and the iPhone subtab and videos within it, then no videos are listed at all.

This is the syncback feature which automatically syncs items purchased or downloaded on the iPhone back to the iTunes library. They appear under the "Purchased on <name>'s iPhone" playlist in iTunes. To get them back onto the iPhone you need to plug it in and then select the Movies and/or TV Shows tab on the iPhone and tell it what to sync, there are several options and it's probably set to only sync X number of unwatched episodes at the moment which might explain why it wasn't kept on the phone.

Look for something like this (set not to sync in my case):

Thank you very much.
It was something along those lines.

Aparently it was to do with authorising computers related to the istore.
Seemingly, her computer had not been authorised and a bug makes it move the videos off the phone onto the computer, but doesn't let you play them, and donesn't let you sync them back until you authorise.

Thats now been done and the sync is progressing as it should.

Thanks again for the help.
I wish itunes was simply drag drop like everythign else in the world :)

A classic example of DRM getting in the way of people trying to use the media they bought.

iTunes isn't too bad to use once you have learn all of its quirks which it seems to have a lot of.
