iPLayer is rubbish?

Why doesn't iPlayer work like youtube? If youtube is being a bit skippy, then i pause it and it loads it without me watching it. Why doesn't iPlayer do that?

I tends to only try and feed about 20 seconds ahead of what you're watching I've found.

Can be rather annoying... but its a lot of stuff to stream if someone decides they don't want to watch it half way through.

So maybe thats why they do it?

cant say iplayer ever lags for me , probably your connection its quite bandwidth intensive.

also youtube is crap tends to preload a lot at the start then load as slow as your watching it, i remember ages ago when the whole videos would preload really fast guess they are trying to save bandwidth
