Ok, the phone was as cheap as chips.. no complaints about it.
My only issue is that it has a IRDA port and thought I may as well use it to Backup my Sim info (Something been meaning to do for about 5 years - LOL) and as I spend most of my time on the PC "Dock" it to the PC so can send txt messages, administer phonebook from the PC etc. I have an IRDA USB dongle so thought may as well give it a go.
Within Device manager, I have 2 speeds available for the IRDA adapter, 9600bps and various others including 57600bps.
My IRDA adapter supports upto 4Mb/s.. am I right in thinking that 57600bps is 5Mb/s? If so, is there any way of editing the values which Windows gives to allow say 3Mb/s?
The reason is, that when I choose 57600bps, the connection intermittently drops out... on 9600bps, its as solid as a rock but is abviously slow for doing well, almost anything.
If the 57600bps is not equal to 5Mb/s.. any ideas on what would be causing the phone to drop out at higher speeds.. as its a cheap phone could it be limited?
Excuse my ignorance, but I do not have much experiance of Mobiles and IRDA.
Thanks to anyone who can make sense of the above.
