Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier UK Tour 2011

Also saw them last night at Nottingham and they were awesome!

Favourites were Dance of Death, Coming Home and The Trooper... Oh, and also when Eddie was out on stage :D

Bruce is just so much fun to watch.. By far one of the best frontmen on the planet.

Noticed there's a few videos up on Youtube already. If anyone finds a decent bootleg of the show (audio or video) let me know.

Saw them last night in Notts. Wasn't aware of the set, so was in for a surprise on how much of the older stuff they played (compared to A Matter Of Life And Death, which was essentially the whole Album + a few previous bits).

Was a fantastic set and they we're excellent, as good as ever, ears are still ringing slightly now. Also giant Eddie (those who have seen it will know) was cool.

Last night in Nottingham was very good. About 10 yards centre from the front for the whole gig and loved everey second.

Bruce remarked that this isn't going to be their last tour as many people assume (name of the album and tour..) and they will be carrying on which brought a massive cheer. When you look at the faces of the band as they were on stage you can clearly see how much they are still enjoying themselves, laughing and smilling all the time with each other, even Steve  :p

The sound was excellent even though it isn't the best arena for acoustics and I couldn't hear properly afterward either, felt like I had cotton wool stuffed in my ears :D I've been to many gigs and never had that feeling before.

Setlist was as stated above. The only thing I would change on it would be Blood Brothers for Pachendale, possibly my favorite Maiden song.

I very much enjoyed Airbourne, they played a great set, possibly the perfect warm up for Maiden. Only problem was I couldn't understand what the singer was saying as he spoke in the same voice he sings in. Speak normally when you're not singing FFS! :D

Well the final gig of the tour last night as O2 was..a massive disappointment.

I wonder if its a sign of old age that you go to an Iron Maiden concert and come away thinking how poor the sound mixing and levels were. Maiden are usually so particular about the sound they produce, the sound system in the O2 was terrible. A very poor, bland, generic noise that was most un-Maiden like for most of the evening with them even missing certain riffs, phrases or solos almost completely as they seemed to be adjusting things on the fly.

Great to see Maiden, nice to see some old classics with some nice new songs, but overall pretty poor. And £40 t-shirts :(.

£40 shirts? I got there just before kick off so didn't have much time to browse the wares, but the two t-shirts I did buy were £25 each - a wicker man for the lad and a trooper for me :D

Personally, I thought Maiden's set was awesome - Bruce's voice was the best I've heard it for years. Sure, he can't do the screams any more (Number of the Beast for example) - but he was great.

Dragonforce were amusing for their brief set, although I don't think I could sit through a headliner-length set of their high-speed guitar masturbatothon. Don't think their new singer's voice is going to last long judging by Friday's effort - he was really straining at times.

All in all, superb gig, even though I was stuck up in level 4, row P - that's two rows shy of the roof of the tent. Still amazing from up there!

£40 T-shirts:confused:

They where £25 when I looked to buy. Had sold out of my size :(

I saw the night before and they were awesome!! Couldn't see any of the faults you pointed out...

Got my t-shirt for £25 in the arena too so dont know where you saw the £40 job.

I just find it amazing that a band as old as that can keep putting on such amazing performances every other night. I felt exhausted after watching them! Its crazy how they don't get sick of playing the same songs over and over in my opinion - especially on these massive tours where they do hundreds of dates.

Oh and all the shirts were £25 apart from one football shirt which was £40.

We said it wasn't as good as the first time we saw them - I didn't think Bruce's voice sounded that good either, probably knackered! I thought the solos were very good, the show was probably a 7/10 overall.

The thing that horrified me - £3 for a 500ml coke, £4.60 for a large one, £6 for a burger, £9.70 for a "Tex Mex" burger, £4.10 for a hot dog.. I was rather hungry and thirsty when I got out. Utterly disgusting.
