Irwin fans 'in revenge attacks'

That's ridiculous. The stingray wasn't malicious, just defending what it thought to be a threat.
Don't be killin no innocent stingrays :(

yeh heard that today, its disrespectful. Using his name for violence against animals is just wrong.
I dont think they've used his name as an excuse, it's just what the police are speculating.

Seems a bit pointless to me, it's like going round killing any person you see because of a single murderer

Sting rays is loathed in certains parts of the world, they are immediately killed on sight....No mercy. This aint because of what happened to steve, more like because they are pretty dangerous IMO.

Perhaps BUT, surely the cutting off of the tail isnt necessary to kill one IMO.

You could stamp on it or shoot/stab/slice it and so on.

Idiots, and not what Mr Irwin would have wanted.

Exactly, Steve was fighting for the protection of animals, not the murder of them. I understand he meant a lot to the Australians and people all over the world but to kill the animals he was striving to protect is abit of an insult to his memory; its like undoing everything hes done.

You don't see the pattern that Steve Irwin gets killed by a stingray's tail off the coast of Australia, and then suddenly there is a number of stingray's found dead off the same coast? With their tails sliced off?

Of course it's because of Irwin's tragedy.

Cutting the tail is one of the favoured and easiest way to kill the beast :p Stamping on it or trying to stab with a knife is just asking for trouble - they can swing their tail upright like a scorpion....

What do you mean you don't know about australian ones? That's what the article is talking about. :)

No it isn't.

Unless you mean stingray's dying, in which case I don't know what evidence you have to show that these kind of killings are common.

The ugly thing is common in the rivers of Nigeria e.g River Niger. My Gran dad was a fisherman (amongst many things) and he usually brings them home tailess.
