Is administrator a Womans job?

LOL at replies, I feel like a right gay, especially since I've been doing Engineering with no female contact.

I asked the lecturer if she gets any men on the course and she paused and was like "hmm yeah actually we had two guys a few years ago"

You players out there get on one of these courses I'm sat between two of them and they got huge juggers it's so distracting.

They're plenty of guys who general admin, but yeah, when it comes to courses you'll stick out like a sore thumb :). I remember going into a college open day and choosing admin as one of the subjects I was interested in. The general look I got, even from the tutor was "wtf are you doing here?".

Spent a few years doing admin before moving on to greener pastures. If you are more than competent at doing general admin in a company, show your other skills as much as possible and you'll move on in no time.

I usually don't like to stereotype, but most admin departments I've seen and been involved in are staffed by idiots. Generally gossip-mag reading thick women who only got the job as they have connections.

It's really not hard to stand out in an admin department, unless you're a thicky :).

Short-term career and jobs available? go for it

Long-term? you'd be driven mental

.....or gay

OK two things:

1. 12 'other' women? Kinda implies you are one too Gregina :)

2. Having worked in an office of 12+ women and being the only guy, it is not all it is cracked up to be. Most of the time it is fine but when they forget you are there and start talking about their version of what blokes talk about in men only company, it gets weird fast :)

On quite a few occasions in the past, I've been in that situation and then had one of the women dig herself into a hole by explaining that she thought I was a woman...no, that's not what she meant, she just didn't think of me as a man...no, that's not what she meant...err... :)

There was no need to start digging the hole. I've never seen the point in gender anyway, so I don't care if people talk to me in a way which is deemed "female" in any particular time and place.

A job is a job, stick at it and get balz deep!

But no really office jobs do suck, its like working at a circus sometimes with the backstabbing and minds games, as mentioned above.
