As title.

My contracts due up next week and im looking to get the best nokia phone i can for nowt. However i would still like to use my o2 genie sim for txts so need a phone thats unlockable.

Is the N70 still not able to be unlocked?

Whats decent nokia phones are available for nowt on t-mobile?

Afaik no-one other than the networks themselves can unlock the n70 at the mo. They can provide an unlock code for a cost. Fees vary from what I hear from 20 quid to 200+, the latter being 3.

If you are on o2 it may be worth trying a sim from a different network in it as I hear that they don't place a sim lock on their version of the n70.

Hope this helps.

Yeah £20 for an unlock code sounds about right.

£200+ sounds a bit mad, though if a network has reduced the cost of a phone by that much when bought for their network, then so be it.

T-Mobile charge £15 and Orange £20.

Recently called T-Mobile to unlock an N70 (father picked it up after changing contract) and the guy that I spoke to even mentioned I could use "unoffical" sources :D (though as you know the N70 is only unlockable via the providers at this moment in time). The unlock code is to be sent out by post and could take upto 28 days to arrive (usual disclaimer talk).

My brother also picked up a N80 on Orange on the same day. After I told him that Orange would unlock the phone for £20 he called them up. The first women he spoke to completely denied that Orange unlocked the phones at any cost. He called straight back and the 2nd person immeadiatly said yes it would be £20.

it depends theres a mysterious bloke (google dejan apparently hes english) that claims to have cracked the bb5 codes but no one really is sure & he isnt releasing it till someone else cracks it and rlss it for free or something, so its kinda pointless just call em up and see if u can get it!
