Is anyone else staying up for the US presidential debate?

You could probably say that about many politicians. I'm not Obama crazy but of the two, he's the least worst.

It'd be the same for me if we had a UK election now. There's no one I "like", so I'd just vote for the person I dislike the least.

Just spoil your balot. You vote for who you want to win, if you don't want anyone to win you either need to create your own party or don't vote.

Silly suggestion.

If Party A is better (but still bad) than party B he should vote for party A as it will reduce the negative impact of whatever party get's into power (assuming his vote actually made a difference).

Spoiling a paper sound good on paper, but in reality achieves nothing - if they needed a certain percentage of votes to win & not just need to beat each other I'd agree - but they don't.

Given the way in which British politics is conducted in the House, I suspect that just about any British MP would wipe the floor with them.....just look at that nutter George Galloway, even he gave them a run for their money.
If only we had Hitchens still with us, I'd love to see him destroy Obama/Cameron & Romney all at once.

As much of a nutter as Galloway is - he can give a good argument/debate to anyone that's for sure.

thanks, very interesting post to read.

one reason i really support obama is on issues like gay marriage, though this is more personal for me as i have peopel out on the usa who will get kicked out if romney gets in, but if obama gets in, hopefully they'll be able to legally marry and do what they want in their retirement.

Wait - why will they get kicked out?

The biggest problem for Obama is that he has a disadvantage that he cannot do anything about and that will unfortunately and sadly in a modern society be a major issue for a large proportion of the American public, and that is his colour.

I think that is the only reason that someone as weak as Romney can even run against someone like Obama, with any hope of success.

Well Obama did beat Sarah Palin last time, but then again even 3 year olds are more intelligent that she is.

Its not a silly suggestion, if people cannot be ass'd to follow democracy correctly, then this is the only way.

To force the top to deal with it themselves, there are just too many idiots on this planet at the moment for democracy to work right.

Voting for whatever useless reason at the moment, is always made pointless by the masses of groomed morons (usually from birth), which always vote for one thing, no matter how hard you try to teach them.

The more I see of Romney, the more I dislike him. I can't believe a word he says. I just see a false, power-mad plastic moron.

Obama on the other hand genuinely comes across as thoughtful and intelligent. It looks like he wants to do the best he can in the position. Whereas Romney looks like he just wants to sit on the big Whitehouse office chair and press buttons.

Joey's turn on Thursday night (Friday morning) folks! That should be interesting. Haven't seen a lot of this Paul Ryan chap.

EDIT: That video clip above is amazing. How did they do it? Replace the mouths in post processing because the words are exactly what the mouth is mouthing. :D

VP debate will be interesting again. I'm expecting Paul Ryan to do well, hopefully so well that he outshines Mitt and allows Barry to thunder back in the second presidential debate and give the performance we were expecting the first time around.

Obama has spent the last 4 years reading other peoples' scripts off a teleprompter so it's not surprising he is useless in a debate, heaven forbid if Romney gets elected though we'll probably experience armageddon.

Romney apparently. I'm always surprised that the British are so interested in American politics, when most Americans wouldn't be able to name one British politician.

United States foreign policy affects the whole world, they'd probably be more interested in our politics if we routinely attacked/invaded the Americas and surrounded them with military bases and missile shields etc.
