Is anyone else still holding strong for the Asus 5870?

My genius plan was to get the Asus 5870 and an aftermarket cooler and then clock to 1ghz+ and r0x0r quietly.. no?

Do any other 5870's now have voltage tweak type software?

just get a sapphire or xfx one, flash the asus bios from techpowerup, guide on there to show you step by step how to do it, job done. you could get some asus stickers and pop them on for that authentic feel. :)

seriously tho, nothing different between the asus and other makes except the bios.

And to be honest, I'd be surpised if you would see any difference in use whatsoever. The vanilla ones are plenty, plenty fast enough.

The date range I've seen for the Asus card seems to be from 22/12/09 to 10/01/10 so still seems to be rare.

wait for the Asus, it has unlocked bios and the best warranty :p
I wanted the asus one and i got lucky. I just kept checking morning, noon and night(at work too) at all the usual suspects and found one.

Yes you can just buy any 5870 and flash the bios, but if it goes **** up, then you can wave buy buy to the warranty. But ultimately it's up to you whether you wait or buy.
