Is Britain becoming overrun by the Qashqai?

They're actually 2 wheel drive

se thats what i thought, which is why i am at a loss to explain buying one over something like a mondeo which would be a more appealing option in every respect if i was looking for a spaceous, economical family vehicle.

is it just because they look like an SUV and people assume its a 4x4?

EDIT* just been out for a short drive this afternoon and spotted 6.

I think the thing that appeals to most 4x4/SUV drivers is not the drive train arrangement and more the actual shape/design of the vehicle - high seating position, a sense of security being in a large vehicle and of course, the amount of space.

The Qashquai offers all this, it just isn't an all wheel drive.

My old man is absolutely intent on buying a brand new Juke, and I can't understand why. The best reason they could come up with is the slightly higher driving position.

Yeah, was going to say. A old good friend of mine who has now passed on had one on mobility, he loved it and that was a 4x4. Mind you it was a +2.

If I needed a 4x4, I would probably have one as they a lot more reasonable on fuel than most other 4x4's.

But yes, a 2wd sounds pointless to me and I didn't know they did these.

They were on quite a few company car schemes, used to be quite popular here until we switched supplier and only get Ford/VW/BMW/Audi as an option now.
