Ok if the stone age no longer exists ,and 2 seconds ago no longer exists ,or a fraction of a second ,assuming the future dosnt exist the only moment that is real is now but as we have a delay in processing the light from the eye we are in a world that dosnt exist and how long is now ,it cant have a length can it ?
new paragraph needed ,so im drawn to the block universe theory ,everything that has happened or has already happened is in the block,as we are in a certain place now but other places exist we are also in a certain time but other times exist ,thinks of a thread title ................
meaning of life please ? (awaits a certain number from hitchhikers guide)

Think I know what you are getting at, but from my meagre understanding, the present time is the only reality, and our perception of the past is relative to how far away from the source you are (i.e when you look into space at a far away object what you see at a particular moment is what happend in the past depending on how long the light has taken to reach your eye).

Of course - on distances within our solar system this is almost imperceptible due to how bloody fast light travels.

As an example, light travels about 6 trillion miles a year, so - if you were 6 trillion miles away from Earth and was able to somehow get a photo of the Earth, you would be seeing the Earth as it looked a year ago, but relatively, you would be in the same time frame as the persons on Earth.

Thus - we are all in the same time frame across the whole universe simultaneously, but our perception of the time period in view at a particular moment is relative to your distance.

(Note - this is assuming a stationary observer, it all gets really messed up if the observer, or the object being observed is travelling at or towards the speed of light).

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick of your post?

what i keep thinking about (with only caffeine in my bloodstream now) is where the past goes ,it seems the moving through time feeling is an illusion and i just find the different theory's so interesting especially the block universe ,the thought that every event that every happened is just at an inaccessible point in space time ,but also every future event but i would rather not believe our demise is already plotted maybe the expanding block universe theory is more appealing .
im just really into this sort of stuff
