Is Google ever going to revenue share?

As it stands, Google expects its users to give them a whole heap of data and for those users to receive no financial compensation in return. You basically give away something for nothing.

Now that the world is slowly waking up to how valuable our personal data is (we already know to protect our personal info when it comes to physical materials, shredding documents etc), are Google going to have to increase value by revenue sharing with its users?

I’ve already moved away from Google services as I can get the same services from Apple for 79p per month. My data is worth a LOT more than 79p per month so I have no reason to freely give it away to Google for them to generate huge profits off the back of it.

What do you all think?

That's not entirely accurate is it.

As the other posters have mentioned, there's a wealth of Google services that they don't charge for that you probably use.

They could always give you money back in exchange for your data, but then charge you for each service you use.

EDIT: What services of Apple's do you pay for? From what i've seen, Apple's services are quite inferior to Google's. I mean how many people use Apple maps as opposed to Google Maps/Waze?

I expected more from the OP.....especially on a computer forum such as this

Personally, I like google products. I'm happy to see fleshlight ads due to my browsing habits in return for services such as maps and gmail.

I'd pay a considerable amount for all Google's services. I use them tens if not hundreds of times a day, and they just work

If anything I find the location history quite interesting too!

I can totally appreciate Apple's position with privacy. For some that is very important and it's good that they are a counter balance to Googles take on privacy.

Apples ecosystem is good, if you don't mind being locked in and having Apple dictate how you should use their services.

Google services are very good, on a like for like basis Google wins pretty much every comparison. That's not to say Apple's service are bad, but you can tell Google is a software company.

FLOL.

"I'm fed up of giving my data to Google for free. I'll give it to Apple and pay 79p for the privilege!"

I have no problem giving my data to a company if it benefits ME, but not if they are going to profit from it without sharing the profit with me.
Apple entirely profit from your data. Your logic here is, frankly, retarded.

Apple don’t user my data to generate an advertising profile to sell to advertisers

If you believe that then you'll believe anything...data is just as valuable to Apple as to Google; just because Apple has a hardware arm which is also incredibly profitable, it doesn't mean that they don't generate an advertising profile about you.

I pay for iCloud storage. For that I get email, calendar, contacts, photos, files, and any number of other features synced across all my devices. All for just 79p per month without having to give away all my data for Apple to sell adverting.
