Is it even worth over locking a 1800X

Mine is stable at 4GHz/2933MHz RAM but I have to give it 1.4v.

There is a video somewhere where some official AMD guy says over 1.425 will shorten the lifespan of the chip.

i wanted an extremely quiet rig. Due to the HUGE wattage i9 require that's not possible.

I got the 8pack Kit on the way and settled for 3.8Ghz @ 1.248v for now, Quiet & Fast. Lower Voltages than "Stock"

I'm struggling to decide whether I should keep my Vengeance 3000MHz kit or swap it out for something better.

Is there really that much of a difference? I can run my RAM @ 2800MHz

what would you swap it to? if you cant get your ram to even run at its stated speed, what can another kit do for you? maybe a little lower timings?

Yes. Gaming alone there's a big difference, there's a bottleneck under 3200MHz. I recommend you get some 8Pack Team Group Dark Pro stuff, guaranteed to be B-Die.

dpd missed my pickup from ocuk today so ocuk was kind enough to sort it out & deliver tomorrow.

So should have it sometime tomorrow

So i go straight in with the XMP profile of 3600? to give it a try or start at 3466 and go down?
