Is it ever acceptable to key a car?

Just wondering what people thoughts are on this, if someone parks a car in a completely inconsiderate manner would you feel it acceptable to key the car as punishment?

I live in a gated development with 250 apartments (400ish parking spaces) there is only one entrance to the building / underground car park (it’s close to impossible to find street parking). Now one night I got home relatively late with quite a few bags to carry and some reknaw had parked halfway accursed the entrance which potentially prevented 400 people from getting into the car park.

I really wanted to get security to switch off the cctv and take out my frustration on the car however my girlfriend was not having any of it so we got the car towed.

I know a few people living in London who regularly get blocked into the drive way because someone has parked in front of a private drive way, the council don’t really do anything.

so yes or no?

that would be childish and im sure youd feel a **** later.

I'd much rather leave a note saying something along the lines of "You should be glad im in not the type of person to KEY the cars of people who park incosiderately' that may get the message across ;)

DONT SWEAR

Dangerous

In a word, no.

It's criminal damage and I would hope that if ever I parked in someones spot or accidently left it in an awkward position that someone would ask me to move it, I would'nt take offense I would just move it, not key it or take to it with a baseball bat which I think is criminal and they should be locked up.

You ever heard of the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right".

it would have to be something pretty severe that almost rights off that persons right to live (murder, rape, child assualt etc)

bad parking and being an all round bad driver dont warrant you lashing out, it is unfortunately very common among people today, i really do wish there was a way to avoid it but once most people pass they assume they can do whatever they want on the road

I can't ever imagine taking a key out of my pocket to key someone's car because they had parked it wrong.

its perfectly acceptable when someones parked on the path to drag your wheelchair down the side of it ;)
On a more serious note nope although i suppose keying the owner would be ok if they didnt take head of a pleasent note

LOL I remember that thread.

I know it’s wrong and I did not do it however sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they willfully obstruct driveways because they can’t find anywhere to park

Hi there

If you have a problem with a person then take it up with the person and too their face.

You should never touch another mans car, its a cowardly selfish thing to do and makes you absolute scum of the earth for doing so.

Instead be a man and sort your issues out face to face, scratching someones car is just like back stabbing, its something faggots do.

No ! My car has been keyed in three seperate places, passenger door, rear pannel and accross the front of the bonnet.......why ? well i have absolutely no idea other than the little scrotes that did it had nothing better to do. What takes someone seconds to do with such a small implement actually cost hundreds of pound to put right. So now i need a full door respray, a rear pannel respray and a bonnet respray. If i had caught them i would have been charged with GBH.

Quoted for the truth.
Its never acceptable, no matter how much of **** the driver is.
I hope I treat other peoples cars how I would like them to treat mine.

Its always best to talk to the drive however they are not normally standing around the car they just parked in your driveway lol :p

As I said I did not do it, I know it is wrong but it did feel rather good seeing it get pulled away by the police :D

Its a shame it only cost him 40 GBP to get it back.
