Is it just me or have the 'health fascists' turned Supermarket food into bland, tasteless mush?

Everything I buy from these places is just so, well... bland & requires me to add seasoning to it on an industrial scale, to get any flavour from them, latest example being a selection of expensive soups, all of them tasting of basically nothing until being introduced to some salt & pepper.

I suppose if you've grown up with this level of blandness, which seems to be a result of those nanny state politicians in the Blair/Brown era sticking their noses into peoples culinary choices, its no big deal, but for old farts like me who grew up with food actually tasting of something, its crap!

But they are incredibly salty! They are much saltier than a homemade soup would be. If you consume them regularly it would be easy to exceed your salt intake.

The RDA of salt has been significantly reduced since the nanny state health fascists got their way, so the salt content is very small compared to what it used to be when the RDA was a larger amount.
