Is it lunch or dinner?

Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner

Anything else is northern and should be culled. :p

Tea is made with hot water and tea bags in a cup or pot :p

Crumpets, tea cakes etc are a delicious option extra to go with the tea that sits between Lunch and dinner. Dinner should be consumed at a proper time (8pm) with a light snack at 5/6pm with the cup of tea.

Dinner is the main meal of the day, so can be at lunch time too, like Christmas dinner. Lunch is the meal usually eaten midday between breakfast and dinner.

Lunch.

Evening meal is dinner.

Although in Wales it's all referred to as "food" most of the time.
ie "What time is food?/What's for food"

What if someone wants to know the meal after the next meal. (i.e. dinner before they have had lunch?)

"What's the food after food?"

Dinner is the main meal of the day...

Breakfast
Lunch
Dinner

most days as your main meal is in the evening.
------------------
Breakfast
Dinner
Tea

on days when your main meal is during the day, you then have a lighter "Tea" in the evening (lunch in the evening).

:p

EDIT: Justin knows where it's at! :D

What if you have a massive fry up for breakfast and light snacks/sandwiches during the rest of the day?

Wake up and eat dinner?

Ha food. They are simple.

I never really thought about it for the 20 years I lived there, but thinking about it now referring to it all as food is quite funny :D

"Shall we go for food?"

"What's the food after food?"

You would say

"What's for food after"

The word "after" is used a lot in Wales to cover a whole multitude of time based sins.

"Are you coming out for a spin?"

"Aye go on then - in a bit now?"

"Nah, after"

"Therewearethen"

"Tidy"
