Is it me or is this a bit pathetic?

There is a road near me, a long dual carriageway which for years now has had an absolutely shocking road surface, they keep repairing bits of it but have never done more than just skim the surface off it & all the bumps are back within 3 months.

However rather than do the job properly they have just the other week decided to stick a 40MPH speedlimit on it half way down and only in one direction.

To make things worse they keep sticking a camera there around one of the bends! :eek:

Why dont they just fix the bloody road, glad to see all that council tax & road tax has paid for a shiny new 40MPH sign and a speed camera rather than fix the damn road :mad:

Speed camera makes money.

Fixing the road costs money.

Yes but does it surprise you one little bit. They want to make as much money as possible. Whilst increasing co2 and investing nothing into either public transport or *** road network.

They are called that so the government can justify stealing money off you. As has been pointed out, their own stats prove that speed isn't the cause of the vast majority of accidents therefore 'speed cameras' wouldn't reduce accidents. Calling them safety cameras means they will help reduce accidents and deaths and therefore are woth the money....

i have noticed that a lot around where i live , they just skim the roads off making it seem that the road is smoothed, but within a couple of months bak 2 the same problem
thats what u get 4 payin ** council tax !!!!!!!!!!

The thing is they don't really care, the main reason they have been put there in this case is purely because they are lazy...

Eh?.

So the road requires a limit of 40mph in only one direction?.

Why is that?. Sounds a bit daft to me?. :cool:

It is, the road surface isn't as bad on the other side though so going one way it's 50, the other way it's 40.
