Is it Pipex or Google Video throttling?

Something i noticed while downloading videos on google is that after a certain amount of time it will get throttled and come down at about 25kbs so im wondering if its pipex or google to blame or possibly more worrying a link in between?

If its google i don't mind too much but if pipex are to blame this means it might start happening to other downloads if it hasn't already, i haven't noticed it elsewhere yet because i don't download large files much except from google video recently.

Pipex throttle I think, saw it somewhere saying they do, maybe wanna check out adslguide.

Yeah they do for p2p and their own newsgroups but not web downloads as far as i know and i would certainly hope not now that they offer up to 8mbp and im only on 1mbps atm, I think its quite pathetic they do for some stuff already and i would much prefer a reasonable cap then a throttle.

What's the point of having a fast connection when they throttle it - sod that.

I really don't no how ISPS get away with throttling, its kinda like going to a paper shop and buying half a newspaper so you miss all the days / weeks news. Not very nice I would never go with an ISP that throttles.

Question which isp doesnt throttle and still gives unlimited useage...not a lot if any...well i havent come across any isp which does both of those things.

As for p2p throttling?, im with Pipex and i was getting close to 167kbps last night when downloading a demo via p2p so i guess im not being throttled:p...or i hope not

ntl cable for a start :) But most people I know would rather have usage caps rather than throttling.

Do you mean 167 KB/sec presumably, as 167kbps would be pitifully slow :p That isn't anything special, I used to max out my old ntl 2Mb connection on utorrent regularly, which was about 230K/sec as I recall.
