Is it possible to get away cheap over Xmas?

Ive been trying to find a cheap holiday somewhere hot over christmas, the cheapest ive found is gran canaria for about £1800 for 4 of us. Has anyone managed to book anything resembling a bargain over xmas/new year?

A weekend in a caravan in Bognor would be cheap.

But not hot.

Though you take a parraffin heater.

What sort of budget do you have, maximum? Does it have to be abroad? Temperature wise - hot or cold? Young children?

Certain parts of the Middle East may be good value.

The crackers may be a bit loud though.

If it was somewhere nice, like Florida or the Carribean, id spend £3k, but id feel cheated spending £2k going to spain
