I'm not keen on over the ear headphones and they appear to be the only wireless sort you seem to be able to buy for the PS5!

I've got just a generic wireless set and a abluetooth adapter but when I try and pair them with the PS5 it says they are not compatible! (don't know if this is the adapter or the earphones!)

Is there a specific type of Bluetooth adapter you need or is there a workaround to get any wireless earbuds to work??

I'm not a competitive gamer by any means, most of my gaming is just chatting to a mate while we play FIFA or GT7 - will the audio lag really be that bad?

Is it any better of worse than the dedicated wireless headsets?

You don't need a bluetooth adapter because that is built in and there's more then likely a whitelist of compatible headsets in the OS that stops you from using whatever wireless headset you want (some compatible wireless headsets will come with their own proprietary dongle to go between the console and the headset that won't rely on bluetooth).

You can just get a set of wired in ear headphones (if such things still exist in this day and age since they all appear to have gone wireless) and plug them into the 3.5mm jack on the dualsense controller (I don't know if that will transmit all the audio or just voice comms).
Most generic (ie. non-PS5 specific) wireless headsets won't connect directly to the PS5 Bluetooth - and my Bluetooth headset is one of the ones that won't work! (either to the PS5 direct or via a dongle!)

I know I can use the wired headset into the controller but would prefer wireless, hence the question.
