Is it time to wake the bike up yet?

Panigale is still tucked away in it’s winter slumber. Just wondering when others decide its time to unplug the battery conditioner and fire it up?

It was frosty less than a week ago and those gritters are still active occasionally but I’m starting to really miss those weekend rides. Plus the sun is out today! (still bloody freezing mind, but the bike cooks my backside anyway!).

Yep - agree with all those who say too early. I'm over my brief bout of optimism which occurred at the weekend. Today was particularly shocking out. Freezing cold, wet and windy.

I don't like leaving the bike in storage for more than 2 or 3 weeks.
Mine's been in hibernation since November now. Ducati assured me this is fine. No need for paddock stands. Its connected to a battery conditioner for one day a week. My other half thinks I’m daft, bought it in September last year and I’ve only clocked up 350 miles. As The Abyss summed up, I don’t need to ride it - it is a weekend bike. Doesn’t stop me missing those rides though. Knowing it’s there all wrapped up and cosy in the garage is frustrating! :)

I should apologise to all the summer riders. I think I jinxed the weather with this thread. First week of March and now this! Roads covered in snow, ice and mush and how long will it be before they're clear of salt and grit. Gutted :(

I think I'm contrary to most rules. In my early 40s. Have a young family. Passed my MOD2 just last year and now motoring on a Ducati Supersport. Bikes have always been something of a taboo since my cousin died on his. He was in his early 20s and was killed within weeks of passing his test. That was many years ago. Everyone is used to the idea of me riding now. In fact my partner encourage me to go for it, so fair play to her. She may have raised an eyebrow at the cost of the bike but she's pretty cool overall about that too.

RE the fair-weather comments. I do ride my little YBR125 in all weathers. I know what cold fingers feel like but when I can I'll just use my partner's car :) I daren't let the Ducati anywhere near salted roads!

The sun came out today so....

Always open to suggestions. I've been riding a '61 plate YBR125 for the last 3 years. This is my first venture into big bike territory. Was always going to be an upright, i.e. MT09, Monster or Street Triple - right up to the point I walked into a Ducati show room and saw a Panigale in the flesh. Game changer :)

I don't even know what a tail tidy is but will Google it!

/Edit - and thanks by the way :)

Depressing isn’t it. Looking at the 10 day forecast there’s not much hope of sunny days up to the end of the month. Not where I am anyway.

We're nearly there - I can feel it! Contrary to earlier forecasts, double digits are now predicted next week and even some sunshine. I can't believe I've had less than 2 hours on my Ducati since November last year and it's nearly April. South coast beckons! :) Might treat myself to a new helmet. One of these in rush blue. Welcome any thoughts on Schuberth lids. Never owned one. https://www.schuberth.com/en/products/motorbikes/helmets/s2-sport.html

Good luck with the MOT. My little YBR failed this week needing a new tyre + sprocket and chain. Yet to collect it so don’t know what the damage is yet. Been sat outside all winter. Poor thing.
