Looking to upgrade my pc soon and get a new monitor and graphics card for gaming. been looking at ultrawide monitros but havent actually used one to see if i like them. they are quite expensive so i dont know if id be better off getting a cheaper monitor and spending more on a graphics card. Ive seen the dell alienware aw3418dw for £832 delivered. ill probably be looking to buy a gtx1080 or wait for a 2070. so is UW montors better for gaming or is it just more distracting with the field of view?

I agree with @MissChief BUT try to check one out in the flesh beforehand if you can, it's quite an investment (but will last you years if you like it).
