Is McDonalds in decline in Britain?

McDonalds is maybe one of ‘the’ worst mass produced lowest of the low garbage foods you could possibly shove down your throat

Hope so. It really is the lowest of the low. I'd rather eat a kebab!

Posts like this wind me up, shows you know nothing at all about how Mcdonalds operate

The quality of their ingredients are actually pretty good.

Cooking methods aside

1) the burgers are made from 100% british and irish beef, and no dodgy cuts either
2) they have reduced the salt content of their fries by 25% and removed Hydrogenrated fats
3) they only use free range eggs
4) Sunblest make their buns, a large decent baker

i would much rather have a mcdonalds than a dodgy kebab, where you hav no idea where the "meat" came from

p.s. i dont work for mcdonalds or even eat there that often

I think they have changed their market focus somewhat over recent years due to increased competion from brands like Subway and the massive rise of coffee shops in city/town centre areas. I've seen a quite a few open in more suburban areas and installing drive-thru operations.

I want a big fat mouth watering bacon double cheeseburger from BK now.

Subway tends to be my choice if I'm going to pig out as at least I'm left remotely full for less than a fiver.

Like one of Dibblers sausages in'a bun people cannot help but go back for more. Certainly not a company in decline, they are everywhere around North Staffs (between them and the oatcakes its no wonder heart disease is a massive killer in the region)

I guess it just depends on the area. A few miles north of Stockton we have 3 McDonalds and about 4 Greggs within a 2 mile radius. They always seem to be booming and have queues filled with <20 year old mums feeding crap to their children.

It's got nothing to do with the quality of their ingredients I just don't like squashed, thin, tasteless product they sell. Sorry if that bothers you.

Mc donalds is a pathetic excuse of a meal, kfc seem to be going same way aswell. Best quick meals in my opinion is morrisons salad and fruit bar.

Cant beat the odd greggs steak bake though, theres a greggs around every corner in chesterfield.

Urgh, you'd never catch me eating in <name of chain restuarant here> as it is so completely <insert insult here> that is actually <insert riduculously over the top criticism here, for example 'totally uneatable and tastes the same as cardboard'>, I am so much better than that and would only ever eat in <insert name of high end restaurant I've never eaten in>.

So you like the place. :p

The one in Stockton high street is finished?

I've not been to Stockton in about 10 years though so quite a bit's probably changed.

Yep, it was open a little while back. Very much closed now.

Occasionally I will buy chips from MacDonalds, I'm talking once or twice a year, when I get a real craving for salt. Other then that...yuck.

Their chips are SOOOO salty its unreal, though I barely ever get them as I tend to just grab burgers not a full meal option.

Spot on. I dont care if the beef is organic free range home grown and lovingly massaged, the end result is still somewhat poor, sweating inside a wrapper or box, thin, and usually very unlike the picture.

Seems to be a bit of a north-south divide on McDonalds locations? Seems a little pointless opening a franchise up within 5 minutes of another!
