Is McDonalds in decline in Britain?

I only ever tend to use them when I'm on a journey and its a handy point for something to eat but I dont think it tastes that bad. Not as good as BK, mind.

Same here, when in need I'll pop into one.

Tbh with McDonalds, its the customers that put me off as much as the quality of the food. Car parks and restaurants always seemed to be full of chavs and the car parks are always strewn with rubbish which the lazy ******* customers cant be bothered to walk the few feet over to the binds.

How can you make such a gross generalisation? They serve over 2.5million people a day in the UK alone...

By the comments in this thread it sounds like the majority of the population of GD only eat freshly home cooked ingredients that they have bought from the butcher and local farm. Do you genuinely think that the ingredients are better from supermarkets, take aways and many restaurants?

If they say they use 100% beef then i'm sure it is the case. But as others said its not about the ingredients. The overall look is in my experience not attractive and neither is the taste. Cabbage is also a good ingredient but I neither like the look of it or the taste.

When i'm working i'll get lunch out all the time, this week has been mostly subway. Since i go in at a certain time the salad is always fresh looking and so the sub they make ends up looking a lot more appetizing than anything i've had in McD plus I don't feel hungry again after finishing. I'm not saying Subway food is any healthier as there are well known concerns with it.

If m having a burger when at work i go to GBK and use my Taste card (50% off the food). If i'm in town and i'm getting lunch it'll be Subway or BK for the "fast food" kind of places or one of the jacket spud type places if available.

Says more about Birmingham than it does about McDs tbh. :p

Which is perfectly reasonable. Eating a food is all about how appetising it looks and how good it tastes, both of which are personal preference and subjective. For the scenario I am in when eating a McDonalds (in a rush and usually in the car) it is usually the most appetising option for me.

My main point was those that slate it as being substantially worse than all the other processed food out there. Particularly given that I know of no one that has never eaten a processed meal (queue the poster who is best friends with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and only eats 100% unprocessed food)

The franchise fees for a McDonalds are extremely high. I would guess some owners were leveraged up like on housing and couldn't really afford it.

Globally McDonalds is doing very well.
