Is Metro 2033 worth buying?

Rubbish game which looks stunning in places.

1: DX11 gfx are ok some parts are stunning but overall the gfx are average & need SLI GTX570/580 for high FPS otherwise single cards are slow in places.

2: Gameplay is really average at best. Shoot run shoot run hide duck hit this button find this switch etc etc for about 10 mainly tedious hours.

3: Russian to english translation issues on the storyline which is really tedious & there are plenty of boring unskippable cutscenes as well.

There are many better games out there if you can wait Steam will have another sale on this for £5 which is about all its worth IMO.
 
I don't know why people are saying they had problems. I played the whole game through on DX11, 1920x1080, max settings with a 5850 and never had any slow down or stutter. There were some parts where you could feel it was struggling but it wasn't really visible and didn't affect gameplay.

On the topic of whether it's worth it, I paid 10 quid for it and say it's pretty decent. Worth a tenner but no more.
