Is my current PSU suitable for O/C upgrade?

I have a Hiper Type R 580 Watt PSU I bought a quite a while ago when I got into over-clocking my E6300 and 7950GT.

I am about to upgrade to an E8500 and EVGA GTX 260, which I will also be over-clocking, will that power supply be suitable?

yes, should be fine.
I've been running an E8400 @ 4.1GHZ 24/7 for 18 months on a 5 year old Tagen 480W.

they seem ok for easy tasks, but they're crap

i own two from a while back, they look good, but i can't trust them in any new machines, they're just in old part time pc's at home atm

No. Get rid of it before it blows up and takes some of your precious hardware with it. They are abysmall psu's and are unable to deliver their claimed 580w. They have weak 12v rails that only supply a claimed 360w which is poor for a so called 580w unit. Buy a decent psu from the likes of Zalman, Enermax, Seasonic and PC Power and Cooling.
