i think the point he was trying to make was.

god and the devil exist.

this is not the real world. heaven is the real world. i dont know what he thinks hell is then.

you should be doing good with your life in this world (the fake one) in order to get into heaven (the real world). or you will end up in hell with the devil.

there are people who know this (free masons) and instead of telling everyone heaven exists, they keep it quiet in order to control people.

he tried doing all of the above using the matrix as an analogy. it was a poorly chosen analogy because the matrix was a genuine fake world, whereas this world is real and not fake. your friend is a religious nut (muslim) therefore he believes in god no matter what and that the teachings within his faith will lead him to heaven. basically he believes in heaven and that you should be doing good in order to get there.

in the matrix there were 2 worlds, the matrix and the real world. in his view there are 3 worlds, hell, heaven and this world. therefore its a very confusing analogy.

Sounds like he's feeling guilty and is trying find a way to justify his 'guilty pleasures', to the extreme by the sounds of it. He is human after all? isn't he?!
