I've been using my on-board graphics card for a few months now, since one day all of a sudden I had no display from my graphics card. My screen just stayed black and I saw nothing. My graphics card is a "256MB PCI ExpressTM NVIDIA® GeForce® 7300LE TurboCache." I was about to order a graphics card, but I just wanted to ask if there's any way I can confirm it's dead or if I can get it working somehow? I have no other PCs so I can't try putting it in something else.
Sidenote, I was about to order a graphics card and in the very likely case that I still have to buy one, I wanted to know if there are any compatability issues with graphics cards or if I can just put any one straight in? I'm pretty sure my slot is a PCI-E (my graphics card is listed above) so is that the only requirement? Also, again, off-topic - but I wanted to know if anyone has suggestions for what graphics card to get. I'm looking to spend under £30, and I want the thing to be quiet. I don't play many games, only Counter-Strike Source which has very low requirements. I want to run a dual monitor setup (1650x1050 and 1280x1024) comfortably. I was looking at the "Radeon HD 4350 512MB" which seems to have a version that is silent.
Any suggestions on what I could try?
