Well, disaster has struck. All of a sudden (and I mean all of a sudden) I have started getting graphical corruption on my screen in the form of green and purple lines. It started off a few days ago as the monitor sometimes going into standby mode (or saying "no DVI signal") and I couldnt get out of it without a reboot. Then the monitor started blinking on and off, and last couple of days I started to get the coloured corruption, first a little bit and then 5 minutes ago the entire screen. Just rebooted and it powered up as normal for a few secs then the corruption returned.

Its been working perfectly fine for a good few months since I bought it on MM.

Am I screwed? :(

Ok booted back up after leaving it off for a few mins and now the screen seems alright...but it's only a matter of time before it will come back I think (couple of hours max). Does it sound like the memory is borked?

EDIT - happening very frequently now... corruption starts about 20 mins after turning it on... what on earth is wrong with the bloody thing?

I may just cry...

Just to clarify what you mean by green & purple lines, was the card doing stuff like this:

This could be caused by corrupted drivers or it could be caused by a dud card (in my case it seemed to be a dud card - the was a 6600GT though, not a x1900).

Unlucky rich :(

Ive has 5 graphics cards die on my in the past month  .

Have you tried the other monitor output thing ?

No it wasn't like that mate, it was very thin lines spead accross the screen, mainly green and urple. I've just stuck my 6200TC in now so I can't get a screenie.

I booted up and the card would be fine for 20 mins, THEN it would start... the monitor started flicking on and off due to signal and then shortly afterwards the screen would corrupt and the lines appear. What is the probem likely to be if it doesn't happen the moment I boot? The temps were good, and it worked fine for 3 months!

Aghh!

5 died? Godness mate what the chuff are you doing to them?

No I didnt try the other DVI port... possibly a bit silly in hindsight, but not sure it would have made any difference?

Holy **** it could be my monitor, just started getting corruption with my 6200TC too!

Currently funny blue lines going accross the screen and it blinked on and off again.

****, **** and triple ****... could it be my PCI-E port? maybe if im lucky a faulty DVI cable?

EDIT - Text and overall image quality has now degraded, everything looks a bit blurry and unclear.

Have you got your new x1900 yet. :p

lol no... will probably arrive Monday... can't believe I got such a sick deal too. :D

So glad its not the X1900XT that was at fault though, would have been a nightmare to RMA it and I was planning on selling it to cover the cost of the XTX.

Loks like NEC will be getting a call on Monday... really hope I don't get a replacementwith bleed or dead pixels or I may just kill someone... :(
